By marking a presentation as final in PowerPoint 2010, you are indicating to anyone who views the presentation that it is the final copy. It will also be marked as read-only, so that no further changes can be made.

1. Open the presentation that you would like to mark as final.
2. On the File tab, click Info.
3. Select the Protect Presentation button to be presented with a number of options.

4. Click Mark as Final.
5. Confirm that you would like to mark the presentation as final by clicking OK.

6. If the following message appears, click OK. It indicates that the Status property is set to Final and that this is now a read-only copy.

7. There are now a number of areas that indicate that this presentation is final:

  • In the information area on the File tab:

  • In the Status Bar in the presentation (Mark as Final icon is displayed):

  • In the Title Bar of the presentation (marked as Read-Only):

  • In the Information Bar:

8. If you would like to continue editing this presentation, either click Edit Anyway in the Information Bar or click the File tab, select Protect Presentation and click Mark as Final once more to switch this protection off. You will then be able to continue editing this presentation.
