How to Convert PowerPoint to DVD

PowerPoint 2010 has a built-in packager that allows you to quickly incorporate all the elements of your presentation, including sound, video and graphics, into a single folder that can be burnt to CD or any other storage device such as a USB memory stick or DVD.

1. Open the presentation that you have prepared and would like to package.

2. On the File tab, click Save & Send.

3. Select Package Presentation for CD and click the Package for CD button in the right-hand

4. If you would like to include any additional files, click Add and select the other files. Similarly, if you wish to remove any files, select them and click Remove.

5. Click Options for further packaging options.PowerPoint Options

6. If you do not wish to include linked files or embedded TrueType fonts, then deselect these checkboxes.

NOTE: If you deselect these items, videos and sounds may not run and fonts may not appear correctly.  Only deselect these if you are confident the recipients of this packaged presentation will have access to the relevant files and fonts.

7. You may also choose to include a level of password protection on the file.  You can enter different passwords for read-only access (Password to open each presentation) and edit access (Password to modify each presentation).

8. If you wish PowerPoint to check if there is any private information included in the packaged presentation, select Inspect presentations for inappropriate or private information.

9. Once you have made your selections, click OK.

NOTE: If you chose to include any passwords, you will need to re-enter these to confirm them before they are enforced.

10. Click Copy to Folder if you would like to package the presentation to either your computer or a networked location or click Copy to CD if you would like to package the presentation directly to CD.

11. Either insert a blank CD or selects the correct folder location on your computer.  Click OK to begin the packaging process.

12. Once packaged, you can view the contents by navigating to the correct folder location or the CD drive.

13. That’s it for packaging presentations.  Hope you found it useful – don’t forget to take a look at some of the other tutorials about working in PowerPoint 2010.
