Make Your Android Look Like an iPhone

Make Your Android Look Like an iPhone
Maybe you love the functions of your Android, or the price was just better than the iPhone. Whatever reason, you own the competitor's phone, and it's smart but just doesn't look quite as attractive in your eyes. Follow the steps below to turn your Android into an iPhone lookalike.

Replace That Launcher

iOS has an unmistakable launcher featuring large, docked icons at the bottom of your screen. Neither Android nor any of the manufacturer's UIs look quite like this, but you can achieve the same look with Espier launcher . Espier covers all of its bases, allowing you to long-press an icon to delete it and swipe to reveal a whole slew of iPhone-like options. You might even forget that your phone isn't an Apple.

If Espier isn't to your liking, GoLauncher Ex has a free theme. iPhone Go Launcher EX Theme not only provides the look of a dock, but includes the default icons from iOS, too. It doesn't get easier than that.

Message Like a Fanboy

Apple's messaging app is as well-known as its launcher. However, it doesn't take much to mimic it. Install Handcent for free, and use it instead of your messaging app. Not only can you set the theme to appear like Apple's blue and green chat bubbles, but you can make your own theme, schedule texts, view your messages as a pop-up when you receive them and finally remove all those annoying social network contacts from your “Compose” screen.

Get in Touch

With A.I.type Keyboard Free for Android, you can switch from any Android keyboard to one that mimics Apple's iOS touch keyboard. Simply install it, enable it from your “Settings” screen and then long-press on any input area to choose your keyboard. We prefer Swype, but we understand if you just can't get enough iPhone on your Android.

If you're willing to shell out $4—after all, it's far less than the going price of an iPhone 4S— InoMail gives you an interface identical to that of Apple's default mail app. The developer promises that it's intuitive, but we won't tell if you just want it because of its looks.

Change Your Contacts

The contacts app is probably one that you use on a daily basis. You can make calls or send texts directly from the app, view your friends' status updates and even assign custom ringtones from the app, without ever opening your settings panel. If you swap out the app itself with Go Contacts and install the free iPhone Theme, your app will look similar to that on Apple's iPhone—and remain fully functional. Plus, you can launch the dialer directly from your contacts app, and you don't even have to remember a person's full number for the app to find them and start making a call.

How Can I Assist You?

Since Apple released Siri, Apple users have finally had an advantage of Android owners, but apps like Vlingo and Iris are ably filling the void, until Google releases its own solution.

We bet you'll find the differences between the operating systems less significant, once you try these apps.
